Fly By Wire

Designed for speed: Queenstown's million dollar Fly by Wire installation opened in June 1998. The plane has been clocked at 171kph, (106mph) making it the world's fastest ride. Built of premium grade aircraft materials, using state of the art design and manufacturing techniques, the plane is extremely strong. Powered by a 60hp aircraft engine, it produces an awesome power to weight ratio.

Cost: NZ$189 per person. Includes 4x4 transport out to site.

Duration: Round Trip: Maximum 2 hours 30 mins. Six minutes of powered flight, approximately nine minutes in the air.

Mininum Age: 12 Years.

Maximum Weight: 125 kgs

Location: Tuckers Beach, Queenstown.

Spectators: $20 per person on a space available basis.
