The Ledge Swing is closed. AJ Hackett Bungy's own page carries the notice: "Due to staff shortages The Ledge Bungy & Swing remains closed." No reopening date has been announced. Check the current status at bungy.co.nz before you plan around it.
The Ledge Bungy alongside it is closed for the same reason.
High above Queenstown
The Ledge Swing sits beside the Skyline complex on Bob's Peak. When it is operating, the freestyle launch platform sends you out above Queenstown, with Lake Whakatipu and the Remarkables across the basin. The swing has also run evening and night sessions.
Access is via the Skyline Gondola from the top of Brecon Street, five minutes' walk from the waterfront. You cannot drive up, and a gondola ticket is needed on top of the swing.

From when it was last operating:
- Age: 10 and over. Children of 14 and under need an adult to sign consent at check-in.
- Weight: between 30kg and 107kg
- Getting there: Skyline Gondola, with a gondola ticket needed on top of the swing
AJ Hackett does not publish a height or price for the Ledge Swing while it is closed.
Other swings operating now
You can still choose between two AJ Hackett swings:
- Kawarau Swing — about twenty minutes from central Queenstown at the Kawarau Bungy Centre. Ride solo, as a pair or with three people.
- Nevis Swing — about 45 minutes from Queenstown in the Nevis Valley. Its 300-metre arc can be ridden solo or tandem.
