The Audi quattro Winter Games New Zealand is an elite international Winter sports event.
This will be the sixth edition of the Games, taking place during August and September 2018 in Queenstown, Wanaka and Naseby.
The world’s best will compete in freestyle skiing and snowboarding World Cups and the FIS Junior Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships 2018. The Winter Games NZ is proud to attract 6 out of the top 10 athletes in each World Cup disciplines.
The North Face Frontier is the freeride event within the Winter Games NZ calendar and is a Freeride World Cup Tour Qualifier with both 2* and 4* events providing top athletes the opportunity to gain valuable FWT points. The cross-country skiing, alpine ski racing, ice hockey and curling events attract quality fields and are expected to grow now the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ is an annual event.
This year the Audi quattro Winter Games NZ has joined forces with the World Curling Tour to host the first Mixed Doubles Curling Tournament of the 2018 and 2019 season.
The Games is one of the world’s top five winter sports competitions and the only one in the southern hemisphere. It is also New Zealand’s largest recurring sports event.
