Queenstown’s sure to be the flavour of the day at the annual Queenstown Ski and Leisure Roadshow this week as world class bartenders from the 42 Below Cocktail World Cup mix up Kiwi cocktails at trade evenings in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

Enhancing Queenstown’s position as the Southern Hemisphere’s premier winter holiday destination, Destination Queenstown will be joined by 18 local business operators representing the ski, accommodation, air travel, activity and leisure sectors.

A fun educational evening will be delivered as delegates are cooled down with a cocktail and then warmed up by local Queenstown comedian Emma Lange before sitting down to a DVD presentation that portrays Queenstown’s unparalleled range of Winter 2006 tourism product.

At each presentation, trips for two to Queenstown will be offered as an added attraction for delegates in conjunction with support for the roadshow from Air New Zealand and Qantas.

Mark Frood, Destination Queenstown’s General Manager Marketing expects a combined audience of around 300 travel agents and wholesalers to attend the shows.

“We want to wow these people with the depth of our winter holiday product. All year, especially during winter, Queenstown has a positive vibe. The après ski buzz is hard to beat. There is always plenty to do whether you are up the mountain, down the mountain or simply chilling out in town. Our aim is to represent this spirit of Queenstown with a fantastic evening of entertainment and education.

“These roadshows provide the opportunity for the Australian travel trade to speak face to face with the people that make Queenstown the great holiday destination that it is. It will provide them with reasons to get their clients booking Queenstown this winter. ”
