The Wakatipu Ski Club Annual Ski Sale and Snowshow will be held at the Queenstown Event Centre on 30 May 2010. Located in the heart of the local ski industry, the Wakatipu Ski Club event is the premier ski sale event on the winter calendar.

More than 2,000 people are expected through the doors on Sunday. The event attracts local and international marketers, trading in new and used skis, snowboards, boots,
skates, poles, hats, goggles, gloves, and every other item of equipment and apparel required for the advancement of snowsport.

The ski sale has been run for over 30 years, and it is one of Queenstown's longest running winter fundraising events. The event relies on volunteers, both on the day and
prior to the event to ensure that it is a big success. It is a huge effort for those people involved, who devote time and energy to raise funds for the future of winter snowsports,
for families living in the region.

The Wakatipu Ski Club has been home to generations of local skiing families. For almost 70 years the Ski Club has endeavored to keep families actively enjoying winter
recreational sport together. The Wakatipu Ski Club offers its members affordable ski lessons, and comfortable base facilities at Coronet Peak. As well as raising funds for the
Ski Club, the sale provides people with an opportunity to outfit themselves and their families with affordable equipment.

"The ability to recycle surplus equipment encourages people to take up the sport. It also enables visitors to the resort to kit themselves out cheaply and spend 10 days, or a
season in the resort" says sale organiser, Peter Devine. "The club is grateful for the sponsorship from local businesses".

The Wakatipu Ski Club was pleased to be able to contribute financial support to local member Tim Cafe for his bid for the 2009 Winter Olympics. This past year, the club has
also provided a scholarship to Hamish Bagley to help in his quest to make the 2014 Olympics in snowboarding. Hamish gained a 2nd placing in the US National Junior
championships. Funds raised from this years event and silent auction, will continue to support local families at social and elite levels of winter snowsport in the Wakatipu
region.
