Grab a seat around the dinner table and sharpen your ears for the delicious sounds of jazz on the menu at this year’s ASB Queenstown JazzFest Dinner Cabaret Series.
Queenstown’s major springtime event, taking place from 21-25 October, has joined forces with three of the resort’s most popular restaurants to present tasty jazz acts to diners each night over Labour Weekend.
Representing the full breadth and scale of jazz music, each venue has a very different ‘theme’ over the three nights, called ‘Songbirds @ threesixty’, ‘Jazz meets the Blues @ Wild Thyme’ and ‘Piano Men @ Les Alpes’.
Diners can choose to listen to the sumptuous tones of Catlin Smith, Margaret O’Hanlon, Saelyn Guyton or Sacha Vee at threesixty, get their groove on over dinner with Nigel Gavin and Richard Adams, followed by King Leo at Wild Thyme, or kick back and listen to dazzling fingerwork of pianists Daniel Gassin, Harvey Maguire or Mark Wilson at French restaurant Les Alpes.
Queenstown JazzFest Trust chairman Luke Baldock said diners attending any night – or indulging in a musical smorgasbord with a night in each restaurant -- could expect a truly unforgettable experience.
“We’re delighted to jazz up Queenstown’s local dining experience with the Cabaret Dinner Series,” he said. “Festival goers can really indulge their senses with a music match that will be as appealing to the aural senses as the wonderful selection of culinary delights on offer will be to their sense of taste.
“They’re the perfect opportunity to enjoy a fantastic evening of sophistication and live jazz accompanied by delicious food, fine wine and great company.”
Reservations are strongly recommended with limited or prioritised seating for diners at each venue.
