Real Country

Real Country runs country activities on a private sheep station south of Queenstown, well off the usual tourist run.

The main session takes in clay target shooting, knife and axe throwing, archery, target shooting with an air rifle and cracking a stock whip, with a safety briefing and one-on-one coaching on each. The clays are set to suit the shooter, from easy rising birds through to high crossers, and it's the only Qualmark Gold rated clay target operation in the district. Sessions run one to three hours depending on group size and cost $170 a head, or $130 if you leave the clays out. Minimum four people, aged 15 and over.

For families with younger children there's a farm show, a sheep shearing experience and an animal feeding session, priced from $40. A packaged option includes transport out from Queenstown.
