Secrets of Bungy Tour

Visit website →

No longer running. The Kawarau Bungy Centre it ran from is still open and free to visit.

This tour no longer runs. AJ Hackett Bungy has removed it from their range and there is no longer any mention of it on bungy.co.nz. The site it ran from, the Kawarau Bungy Centre, is still open and still free to walk into.

What it was

The Secrets of Bungy Tour was a guided walk through the workings of the Kawarau site — the history of the pioneers, a look at the cords and how they are made and tested, and the parts of the operation you do not see from the deck. It was aimed at people who wanted the story without going over the edge.

What to do instead

The Kawarau Bungy Centre still gives you most of what the tour offered for nothing. Entry and parking are free, the viewing decks are cut into the rock face directly above the bridge, and you can watch jumps all day from a few metres away. There is a bar and a café if you want to make an afternoon of it. Open daily 9.30am to 4pm.

If you would rather jump than watch, see bungy jumping around Queenstown for the three sites and what each one costs.
