The hotel above the Shotover River at Arthurs Point traded for decades as Nugget Point — it now operates as Coronet Ridge Resort, about ten minutes from downtown Queenstown on the road to Coronet Peak.
Rooms run from Shotover-view suites to a two-bedroom Coronet suite, most looking down over the river gorge. Elevation Bar & Restaurant handles dinner and drinks with the same view, and there is a spa and pool for the days you are not on the mountain.
In winter it is one of the closest beds to the Coronet Peak access road; in summer the Shotover jet boats run directly below.
