Bar carved from 18 tonnes of ice at Steamer Wharf — jackets and gloves provided, entry with a cocktail $50, family passes available.
Minus 5º ICE BAR is exactly what it sounds like: a bar kept at minus five degrees, where the walls, the sculptures, the seats and the glass in your hand are all carved from ice — around 18 tonnes of it, re-sculpted by hand. Jackets, warm boots and gloves are provided at the door, so you only need to bring yourself.
It sits in Steamer Wharf on the lakefront, next to the TSS Earnslaw berth. Entry with a cocktail is $50, or $60 with two; the mocktail version is $40, kids aged 4–17 pay $30, and a family pass (two adults, two children) is $120. Card only — no cash. Works winter or summer; in fact it is an easier sell in January.
