The Bathhouse has one of the best positions in town: built in 1911 right on the beach at Queenstown Bay, a short walk along Marine Parade from the centre. Floor-to-ceiling windows put the lake and mountains in front of every table, and the deck on the sand is the place to be when the sun is out.
These days it runs as a tapas bar and restaurant, with a British and French-inspired menu built for sharing, open 8am to 7pm every day — breakfast and coffee in the morning, plates and drinks through the afternoon and into the evening.
The building and the beachfront also make it a busy spot for weddings and private events, so check ahead if you have your heart set on the deck.
