Boardwalk sits upstairs at Steamer Wharf, one of the older buildings on the Queenstown waterfront, with Lake Wakatipu directly in front of the windows and the mountains behind it. If the weather plays along, ask for a balcony table.
The menu runs to fresh seafood, steaks and burgers alongside New Zealand favourites, with bar snacks if you only want something to go with a drink. Gluten-free, vegan and kids' menus are all catered for. The Rocks Bar, in the same building on the first floor, is a good place to start or finish.
It is a couple of minutes' walk from the town centre along the waterfront, and a window seat at sunset is worth booking ahead for.
