Fergbaker is a bakery on Shotover Street that opens at 6am, so it works for breakfast on the way to a ski bus, a boat or a trailhead. Close to the other end of the day, it stays open until 2am.
Pies are the main event. A steak pie is $8.50, a Ferg & Cheese pie is $8.90, and the vegetarian lentil-and-mushroom pie is $8.90. The cabinet also holds cakes and pastries, breads, croissants, breakfast wraps and sandwiches. Vegans can try the quinoa-and-black-bean focaccia.
