Elevation Bar & Restaurant sits above the Shotover River at Coronet Ridge Resort, on the site that was Birches at the old Nugget Point Hotel. The dining room and terrace face across the Wakatipu Basin to the Remarkables, with the river running below.
Breakfast runs from 7am — sourdough with free-range eggs, eggs royale with Mount Cook salmon, corn fritters with smashed avocado. From midday the bar snacks menu turns to truffle croquettes, a Southland charcuterie board and pulled pork sliders, good with a beer after a day on Coronet Peak. Dinner from 5pm runs to Royalburn lamb, slow-cooked beef cheek, Mt Cook salmon and a pumpkin balanzoni for vegetarians.
It's a short drive out from central Queenstown toward Arthur's Point. Book ahead for a window table over the river.
