Boliwood does halal-certified Indian cooking at 62 Shotover Street, with a second branch at Five Mile in Frankton (3/34 Grant Road) for anyone staying out that way.
Start with vegetable samosas or pakoras to share, or the seekh kebab — marinated lamb skewered and finished in the tandoor. The mains run through the staples: jalfrezi, korma, kadai and vindaloo with your choice of lamb, chicken or beef, plus a solid list of vegetarian curries and seafood dishes like prawn Malabari and fish masala. The goat curry, slow-cooked in yoghurt and a spiced masala, is the house specialty.
The dining room is roomy and social, and it works just as well for takeaway — there are lunch specials and online ordering. Fully licensed, no BYO.
