Steak and open fires on Marine Parade
Botswana Butchery has been on Marine Parade since 2008, in Archer Cottage — one of the older buildings on the lakefront, which from the street looks far smaller than it turns out to be inside.
The focus is meat: aged cuts from the butcher's block, game, and a wine list that runs to four figures of bottles. There are private rooms upstairs seating anywhere from two to thirty, which is why it collects a lot of birthdays and work dinners. MICHELIN included it in the Selected list in the 2026 guide.
It is open right through from late morning to late at night, which makes it one of the more useful places in town if you have come off the mountain at an odd hour. Sides are charged separately — worth knowing before the bill arrives. Book, particularly through winter.
