Canyon Brewing sits beside the Shotover River at Arthurs Point, a few minutes up the hill from town, with a terrace and beer garden looking over the canyon — the same stretch of river the Shotover Jet runs, so there is usually something to watch with your pint.
The beer is brewed on site, poured fresh in the taproom alongside local wines and spirits, and the kitchen does locally sourced food to go with it.
The terrace and fireplace earn their keep in both seasons: sun over the river through summer, and a fire and a dark beer after a day at Coronet Peak in winter. Worth building into a trip out to Arthurs Point rather than treating it as a detour.
