Saigon Kingdom's Frankton branch sits in Remarkables Park Town Centre, a short drive from the airport and handy either side of a day on the Remarkables.
The kitchen cooks Vietnamese with New Zealand produce. Start with the Saigon summer rolls, crispy chicken or Hanoi grilled pork meatballs, then move on to pho, Vietnamese pancakes with grilled pork, or something off the grill — salt and chilli fish fillet, chargrilled tiger prawns, lemongrass and chilli chicken, caramelised pork chop.
Open seven days, 10.30am to 8.30pm. It is a relaxed room that takes a family lunch as easily as an early dinner before the drive back into town.
