Wood-fired Mediterranean on the lakefront
Soda sits on the lakefront at the bottom of Rees Street, right on Queenstown Bay Beach. It opened in 2023 and MICHELIN listed it as Selected in the 2026 guide.
The cooking is Mediterranean, mostly off a wood-fired grill and built for sharing: antipasti, ceviche, wagyu skewers with chimichurri, seafood paella, lamb shoulder. There is a chef's selection if you would rather not decide.
The space is the other half of it. There is a proper dining room with lake views, a bar with high seating, a covered balcony looking back over town, and a courtyard on the lakefront — so it works about equally well for a quiet dinner for two and a group of twelve. Ask which one you want when you book.
Open seven days from midday until late, which makes it one of the more reliable late tables in the centre.
