Eichardt's Bar sits on the ground floor of Eichardt's Private Hotel, the 1867 lakefront landmark on Marine Parade. It works as well for a pre-dinner drink as it does for a whole evening: deep sofas, an open fire, and a dining room of exposed brick and low lighting that stays on the right side of grand.
The menu is tapas, built for sharing — order a spread across the table rather than a plate each, and pad the meaty plates out with something lighter. The cocktail list runs from the classics to a few house creations, alongside regional wines.
The fireside seats are the ones everyone wants on a winter evening, so arrive early or book ahead.
