Margo's is a Mexican-inspired kitchen at 26 Ballarat Street, in the Mall, built around sharing plates and a serious margarita list.
The cooking is not strictly traditional - the chefs draw on where they have worked as much as on Mexico - but it lands well. Tacos to split, guacamole and house salsas, nachos, and crispy coconut cauliflower with cashew queso at the plant-based end of the table.
The dining room is loud in a good way, and the booths fill fast on a weekend, so it suits a group more than a quiet two-top. Vegans get a real section, not one token dish.
Open every day from 4pm till late.
