The Meat Preachers cook South American-style barbecue on Grant Road in Frankton, over coals and open flame rather than a conventional grill — you can watch the fire from the counter.
Daytime is the quick end of the menu: sandwiches, wraps and burgers from 11am, plus empanadas filled with barbecued chicken, beef or vegetables. From 5pm the kitchen switches to plates and share platters cooked over the coals, with sides and slaw alongside.
Hours are 11am to 3.30pm on Monday and Tuesday, and 11am to 8pm Wednesday through Sunday, so this is an early dinner rather than a late one. Worth knowing if you are coming out from town.
