Fine dining at The Rees on Frankton Road, listed in the MICHELIN Guide New Zealand 2026
True South is the dining room at The Rees, on Frankton Road between town and Frankton, with the lake directly in front of it. The menu is built on Central Otago and southern producers and changes with the season. It is listed in the MICHELIN Guide New Zealand 2026.
The wine is the other reason people make the trip out. The list reads by Central Otago sub-region, and there is a professionally managed private cellar of Bordeaux behind it. Next door, the Bordeau Wine Lounge does small plates and pours by the glass if you want the wine without the full sit-down.
Dinner is served daily from 6pm. Book ahead, and give them any dietary requirements when you do.
