Destination Queenstown has teamed up with a cutting edge web series to promote the resort as a top winter destination.
Diaries Downunder returns to the region for its third winter, shooting the cream of New Zealand and Australian riders as they showcase their talent and access some of the best terrain in the South Island.
The first of five high definition episodes airs tonight (Thursday) and they are expected to attract a web audience of around 75,000 per episode as well as reaching an Australian television audience of 300,000 per episode when it’s aired on Fuel TV.
DQ General Manager Marketing Graham Budd says the series is a great way of marketing Queenstown as ‘the place’ to visit during the Southern Hemisphere winter to a dedicated snow sports audience.
“Diaries Downunder aligns perfectly with the younger demographic and is an innovative way of showcasing what’s hot on-and-off the slopes,” he says.
“Footage will capture some of Australasia’s best riders at Queenstown’s Coronet Peak and The Remarkables while also testing their mettle off the slopes doing some of the resort’s adventure activities.”
Top NZ snowboarder Nick Hyne returns to present with Ben Ryan from Reason Films behind the lens.
“This year we have also teamed up with Winter Volume Productions out of Australia which will enable us to expand the project and create episodes of the highest quality,” says Mr Hyne.
With an established audience on NZ, Australian and American websites, Diaries Downunder has quickly become the premium youth-oriented web series for the Southern Hemisphere winter.
