The hustle and bustle of Remarkables Park will have a whole new dimension over the coming summer months with the launch of a Saturday Remarkables Market.
Many independent artisans, foodies, growers, vineyards, farmers and craftspeople from Central Otago to Bluff are anticipated to come to Queenstown to sell fresh seasonal produce and locally produced high quality crafts at this European-inspired market.
The market will be easy to find, located approximately 100 metres from the main entrance to the Remarkables Park Town Centre and easily visible, centered around a red farm barn.
Remarkables Park Special Projects Coordinator Olivia Porter said she expects the market to be a great place to combine coffee or brunch with friends, while enjoying market-style shopping.
The Remarkables Market will launch in November and will be open from 8am to 1pm every Saturday (except Christmas Day) until the end of April.
The ‘greenfields’ location means there will be plenty of parking immediately adjacent to the market for those keen to browse what’s on offer. It will be in easy walking distance of the Remarkables Park Town Centre for those coming by bus.
“Plans for the Remarkables Market were designed to provide a place for produce growers and independent artisans to cost effectively sell their wares and for local musicians and buskers to provide entertainment,” said Miss Porter.
Vendors can secure their stalls in advance for either a 22-week or 24-week period, or on a weekly casual basis. There are opportunities for clubs, schools and not-for-profit organisations to run bazaars and fundraise at the market.
“For many the Remarkables Market will provide yet another reason to visit the popular and successful Remarkables Park Town Centre,” she said.
“It’s also sure to be a great hit with children because we will have activities to entertain them.”
