The snow continues to fall at Treble Cone. Queens Birthday weekend delivered another 35cm of snow across the mountain and was followed by pretty consistent cold temps allowing for some good snow making. And then two days ago (Saturday) – Powder day 12cm in car park still snowing lightly, cold -3C, snow down to 3rd corner.. yehaa!
Staff training started today and really pleased to see a lot of familiar faces back again. After a general catch up today its all hands on deck up the hill. The mountain will start coming to life.
If you have been keeping an eye on the web cams you will note the entire mountain is progressing well towards opening day on Thursday June 24th. At this stage you need to be pulling the gear out and getting ready. If the weather pattern continues as it has I would expect a good opening day and an opportunity exists to open the entire mountain. That’s plenty reason enough to get excited in my books.
Opening day is taking shape to be a memorable one for more than just the snow. Amisfield will be rewarding all early birds with bubbles on the deck and in the afternoon line up for a painless landing on the Airbag. It will also be an excellent spectator sport for those whose legs give out early.
