Some of the world’s hottest snowboarders guest star in the latest episode of the Destination Queenstown-sponsored Diaries Down Under, a cutting edge international web series being filmed in Queenstown this winter.

Episode Three, released today (16 August), follows Diaries Down Under presenter and local Queenstown rider Nick Hyne giving US rider Sam Hulbert, Australian shredder Jye Kearney and fellow NZSBU* Team Rider Nick Brown a taste of Queenstown. The episode features the four snowboarders off road quad biking, bungy jumping and taking part in the Parklife Invitational Rail Jam in downtown Queenstown.

While he’s no stranger to extreme adrenalin sports, US snowboarder Sam Hulbert, who was in town for the Burton NZ Open, said taking on New Zealand’s highest bungy jump ‘the Nevis’ really pushed his limits.

"That was the scariest thing I've ever done - by far!" he says.

Destination Queenstown is working with Diaries Down Under to promote the resort as a top winter destination and Graham Budd, General Manager of Marketing, says the results so far have been extremely positive.

“Diaries Down Under now has an established following on international websites and is receiving great cut-through to the youth market.”

The viewer statistics are now in for the first of the five high definition episodes. It attracted a web audience of around 75,000 and reached an Australian television audience of 300,000 when it aired on Fuel TV.
